My wife and I enjoy Izumi. It has a small special place in our heart simply because we went there for several dates when we first started dating. The food is okay but nothing to write home about. The environment is okay, and the sushi is not bad. I don't necessarily have any major gripes with Izumi Hatake, there's just nothing that stands out to make it exceptional. Enjoy a good meal here just don't expect to be surprised by anything
Honestly this is be closest thing to authentic Japanese sushi you will find in the city of Springfield. I've lived in LA the past nearly decade, and the first time I returned here to eat sushi I was devastated that I couldn't find a sushi restaurant menu where every roll wasn't totally fried and covered in sauce. The sushi here is quality- fresh, clean, and authentic. The portions are appropriate and it is not overpriced for the area, and in comparison to surrounding sushi restaurants. Always respectable customer service and my food has been ready quickly and in a timely fashion every time I've called it in for pickup. This is a favorite go to spot for the downtown and theater community as well. Highly recommend, thanks for providing quality Japanese cuisine! Yum!
This was the restaurant my husband took me to the very first time I had sushi when we were dating! Went for our 10th anniversary today!
My wife Lindsay, and I love this place! It's not big ,flashy, or especially mainstream. However more importantly it is great sushi, at good rates.
Horrible sushi. Way over priced. Weren’t open during posted business hours as well
The MOST delicious fried rice I have ever had! All of their food is exceptional. The sushi to the chicken and beef dishes are some of the best!
Lovely place. Great food and prices
Fast and friendly service. You will never think of ramen noodles the same way again. Dad ordered them and they were delicious. I had the shrimp tempura udon which was wonderful then we split the California roll, spicy tuna roll, and tempura roll. Really enough food for 4 but it was a late bday celebration for me and an early one for Dad. Their individual serving of soup is more than enough to share but too yummy to share so decided carefully 😊
I wanted to like this more due to the glowing reviews I had heard from a few of my prior co-workers. The spring rolls, absolutely, positively, the bomb dot com and reason for the three stars. Actual sushi? Lackluster. My husband and I went on an afternoon during happy hour and were the only ones in the establishment at the time, our host had a passive demeanor about her, but could have just been having an off day. My suggestion? Go to Kai, they are similarly priced, and a better experience overall.
Our favorite place, the service and people who own it are great. You have to try the lobster roll its amazing, but make sure you use a knife to cut it in half its huge. And its a two person meal.
The food was good. It was a little pricey for what you get. They need to step up on the ramen though.
Really tasty food and the service was great. We went in on a slower night and was able to get our food in less than 15 minutes. They have a great selection of sushi and hibachi grill items as well. The crab rangoons were also some of the best I've had in a while with generous amounts of crab in them.
The best sushi in Springfield hands down!!
Food was exceptional!! My husband is not a sushi fan but he is planning our next trip back! Haha. Service is fast and friendly. Clean and cute little place. Prices are reasonable. And probably some of the best steak we've had in awhile!!!! Dont miss this gem!
Great service and great food
I got the Bulgogi lunch box. You get plenty of food for the price, and everything tasted fresh and wonderful. I would definitely come back here.
Wonderful atmosphere. Great Sushi. We've been all over Springfield in search of something spectacular to replace our regular sushi joint in California. So far, this is the closest we've come to finding it! The Springfield Roll is fantastic! 👌
My husband and I have been here before and we love EVERYTHING about this place. The food is spectacular and always delicious, staff was attentive and informative, food was delivered very fast.
One word, superb. I had the steak and shrimp combination. Everything was served at the right time that you never had an empty plate. The server was pleasant and friendly and the cook staff thanked us for coming as we stood to leave. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone.
Cool sushi place downtown. This place has the bar to sit close to the chef. Great selection for sashimi and sushi.
I had the spriral ecstasy roll, the crunch roll and steak and cooked veggies with miso soup and house salad.(with my bf) the crunch roll with shrimp ave spicy mayo was delish. Yummy flavor.(its a cooked roll) my spiral ecstasy roll was raw fish ðŸŸ. I love raw sushi 🣠but i thought it had a rather fishy taste to it in my opinion. It had little fish eggs on top.(that might be why) i couldn't finish it. I kept feeling like i had picked a pet fish out of a fish tank and took a bite out of it. The veggie, soup, steak, salad,(very simple salad) were good and the crunch roll. The server was nice but in a period of 3minutes she asked us 3times if we were ready to order yet. It was our 1rst time there. They also bright the check rather fast. I felt rushed. It seemed like a nice enough place. Just really prefer mijiris on Campbell much more.
Amazing lobster crunch roll and best crab Rangoon in town!
Best sushi I've had in Springfield, affordable prices, and a local secret that mainstream hasn't caught onto yet so you don't have to fight the crowds. Also, it's probably the closest thing to Authentic Japanese in town and has a quiet ambiance - so even though it's located downtown you don't have to shout across the table to be heard over thumping techno or rock music, lol
It has pretty good Japanese food, a cool interior too. However the prices might be considered a bit high.
Absolutely some of the best sushi I've ever had! The crunchy lobster roll was HUGE! It was delicious, we also had the deep fried Philly roll. Amazing! You have to go here, you will love it!
